Meet the Pedersons!

Every so often I get a huge lesson in the power of prayer.  Before we came to Geneva, I started praying for a Christian girlfriend in whom I could really connect.  Yet shortly after I got here, I felt led to ask for more. So, I added, "and if she had kids that would be great." And then I thought a little longer and decided to really go out on a limb and prayed, "and a cool husband who Geof got along with would just be over the top, God!"  Finally, I mustered up the audacity to really be bold and asked, "and if they could go to my kids school and the mom would maybe be interested in doing a bible study with other parents from CDL-You would really just blow me away, Lord!!"

For about a month, nothing happened.

Then we meet the Pedersons.

Kami was playing with this cute little girl at one of Jackson's baseball games last spring.  Her big brother, like Kami's, was on the team and her dad was helping coach.  The little girl had to go to the bathroom (which was on the other side of the sports complex), so I volunteered to take her for the dad since I couldn't see her mom anywhere.  He accepted and when I returned, he and Geof had started talking.  As I approached, Geof introduced me to Gary and said, "Guess what? Gary and his wife are as crazy as us-they have four kids too!" It wasn't long before I realized that this family was my answer to prayer...down to the last request.

Over the past six months, we have enjoyed countless dinners, events, and birthday parties with Gary, Tracy, Caleb, Lindsey, Jacob, and Julia. They are all within a year of our kids and go to CDL.  Additionally, Tracy had been praying for another mom to come along side her and help grow what had been a bible study of only 3 moms.  In October, we started the study "Duty or Delight" by Tammie Head and we immediately had to get more books because we have 12 moms who joined.  Wow.  Really?

Really.
Thank You Jesus.

"Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."
John 16:24
