Our House in Geneva

We live in Chambessy, which is like a neighborhood in Geneva, Switzerland.  Our home here is a very unusual European house.  It is very European to have a small house. However, our house is very big.  There are five bedrooms and six bathrooms, a full kitchen and a sunroom and even BOMB SHELTER! 

Our house is off a road that you go all the way up. We are the last house on the road with a fence. We also have a guest house over the garage.  It’s a little confusing because our front door is in the backyard. In addition, there is heating through the floor but there is no a/c.  The reason we have a bomb shelter is because in Switzerland every house has to have one. The door is ten inches thick and it is made of cement.

Inside the house my parent’s room is on the top floor. On the middle floor you have the living room, the kitchen, a guest bedroom and the sunroom. Downstairs has my bedroom and the girls bedroom and  also a sauna and a bathroom.  Outside the house the backyard has a grapevine and is called the ‘garden’.  The front yard overlooks the mountains and Lake Geneva.  I have been enjoying the yard.

Overall I think we have all been enjoying the new house.  I am excited for the second shipment to arrive because it has my stuff in it and we will be back to normal. I have attached a video of the house for you to see.
